Community Involvement

Being involved in local events and businesses is a normal part of life. Paragon Community Services offers a wide variety of community experiences that include fun, recreational trips, patronizing local businesses and purposeful, goal-oriented outings that are part of skill development activities.

Some activities include going to the grocery store to shop for ingredients for a cooking class, trips to the library, local fairs, fishing at local lakes, taking care of recycling efforts or simply enjoying lunch at the park. Many of the people who come to Paragon are involved in volunteer projects or work experiences in the community.

People served by Paragon are transported to different areas in the community by Paragon vehicles. Off-site activities vary from site to site and generally take place from two to three times per week and up to five times per day at some locations. Paragon is committed to the health and well-being of the people we support; therefore, from time to time, community activities are cancelled due to weather conditions and other unexpected events.

Types of activities vary from site to site, season to season and are always planned with the personal care needs, stamina and interests of the individuals in mind at the specific site.
